現場の人が旭川にある青少年科学館へ行った際，売店にあった…と見せてくれた科学キャラクター図鑑．
ぱらぱらっとしか見ていなかったので，まぁ絵本の親戚くらいだろう，とたかをくくっていたのですが，甘かったです．甘すぎました．

　キャラクターついてるし，字も大きいけど，これ，専門書だ…！！

深く掘り下げた話が書いてある，というわけではないのですけど，ちょいちょい「え，そうなの！？」という事が書いてあったりして読み応えがあります．いやぁ，思った以上に良い買い物だったようです．

Kindle Paperwhiteさんの容量は約2GBなので，適宜端末から削除しながら使っていたのですが，容量不足を起こしてしまったようで．
容量不足になるとAmazonから即時メールが来たのですが，その時の文面がこれ．

Your Amazon.com Kindle is out of memory space
We are writing about your Kindle (雪だるまの Kindle). Content is waiting to be downloaded to your device but your Kindle does not have enough memory space left to receive this content. To free up memory, go to the Home screen on your Kindle to remove items you no longer need on your device. Note that a copy of Kindle content you purchase from Amazon is kept at the Manage Your Kindle page on Amazon.com. This Amazon service securely stores all of your Kindle books and recent issues of newspapers and magazines and allows you to retrieve them if you have previously deleted them from your Kindle. You can also retrieve this deleted content from "Archived Items", found on your Kindle's Home screen.

Once you free up space, the waiting items will be automatically delivered to your Kindle. You can also select "Sync & Check for New Items" on the Home screen menu to get new content.

To remove an item from your Kindle, follow these steps:
1. Press the Home button to bring up the Home screen.
2. Use the 5-way controller to choose items from the list.
3. Shift the 5-way controller to the left to remove an item.
4. Press the 5-way controller to complete removal of the item.

You can also connect your Kindle to a computer via the USB cable to move unused files out of Kindle's memory to your computer's hard drive, or delete them using your file browser.

You can see how much space is now available on your Kindle memory by depressing the Menu button. At the top left corner of the Menu screen, you will see the total amount of free memory shown in megabytes.

Kindle用のサーバー，実はAmazon.comもAmazon.co.jpも同じの使ってるの…？と思ったのでした．

コンテンツがダウンロードできないよ！！とカスタマーセンターとやり取りし，しばし．
Kindleのログも送って回答を待っている状態なのですが，本日，午後，なんだかしりませんが急にダウンロード状況が改善．
先月末から約半月，牛歩のほうがマシなんじゃないかというダウンロードの進捗だったものが見る見るうちにダウンロード歩合が増えていく，という．…いや，それでも回線速度に比べるとずいぶん遅いんですけど．
それでも一晩経っても終わらない！！が30分も待っていれば終わるのだからすばらしい進歩．
やっと，半月前に購入したコミックが読めるぜ…．

先月下旬から、購入済みのKindleコミックのダウンロードに成功しません。
先月の症状は『あまりにダウンロードが遅すぎていつまでたってもダウンロードが終わらない』というもの。
こちらはカスタマーセンターに連絡して端末の交換と相成ったのですが…。

今度はダウンロードが完了したと思われるタイミングで『端末に対応していない』といわれるというもの。

　TRPGのルールブックが出ないかなぁ，なんてわずかに期待しつつあんまり期待しないで買ったKindleですが，頻繁に満杯になる本棚を気にせず本を購入できる，という点では良い買い物だった気がしています．
特に，コミックについては絶対に紙！！という思い入れがないので，既に持っているものについても買い換えて良いかなぁ，なんて思い始めています．
…一気にはやりませんよ，一気には．

いまは『へうげもの』をちまちまと買っています．
…いや，ね？
無料本の文庫に，結構興味があるのが出てるので，それで十分楽しめてるっていうのもあるので．まさか，生きている人の本をあまり読まないのがこんなところで吉となるとは…
